Keeping dogs with white fur can be a real challenge. White fur is like white clothes. Dirt can make white dog hair look dull and yellow. Fortunately, you can use a natural, non-toxic product (usually a shampoo) to get rid of the yellow in the dog’s white fur.
Groom the dog with a smooth brush every day
Brush often to keep the fur clean. Regular brushing helps to remove dust and dirt, both of which can make the white coat look neater. Brushing can also stimulate the oil in the dog’s skin and help to form a healthy, shiny fur.
Wash the dog with whitening products.
Starting from his head, moving down toward his back, massage the shampoo all the way to the skin. Let the shampoo sit for the time recommended on the product label. Rinse off all soap with warm water. Then apply a special whitening dog shampoo on the white areas of the fur. Apply whitening products and massage on his coat. Rinse with warm water until the water runs out.
Light therapy can moisturize the dog’s fur. The conditioner penetrates the hair shaft and seals the cuticle, making the fur more resistant to dirt and less likely to turn yellow.
Use a clean dry towel to dry the puppy’s fur to remove excess water. Let his fur air dry or use a hair dryer on the lowest setting to speed up the drying process. Because wet fur will quickly absorb dust.
Cornstarch or baby powder
After the fur is completely dry, use a pin brush to make the final touches for the dog. Randomly sprinkle cornstarch on the corn coat to help lighten the remaining yellow stains and make his fur look whiter. Rub cornstarch on the entire fur with both hands, and then brush him until no loose powder is visible.
Dog food
Feed the dog a healthy diet to help keep his white coat full of energy. Provide him with dog food containing omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B. These nutrients help improve the condition of the fur, and healthy fur is unlikely to turn into a dull-looking yellow.
